About

Meet Our Pastor

Ed Kemp grew up in the central San Joaquin Valley in a little town named Porterville. He attended College of the Sequoia’s in Visalia where he met and married Cindy Cooke in 1977. Ed studied at University of California at Irvine and graduated in 1980. He competed in Springboard diving for UCI and did pretty poorly at the NCAA Div. I championships in Cleveland (17th), he also competed in AAU Springboard Nationals, and in 1979 on 3 meter springboard at University of Texas in Austin achieved 36th place, which was last place! Attending Talbot Theological Seminary from 1981-1984 was a highlight for Ed.

Nik was followed by Jenna and McKenzie came in a close third. His children are a enormous source of pride, admiration, love and delight. Nik is now away at college, a year round swimmer and Civil Engineering major. Jenna is a Sophmore in College with a psychology major and a minor in music (she loves drums and acoustic guitar). McKenzie is a Senior in High School, and until this year was a member of the national award winning jazz program on Saxaphone, a year round swimmer and she hopes to follow her brother in Engineering.

Ed has been the Lead Pastor of two other churches in the past and has highly enjoyed building teams and connecting with people. If you’re interested in meeting him call him @ 916.337.6515. He is finishing his Doctorate of Ministry degree at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and hopes to graduate in the spring of 2008 after which he and his wife will take a gigantic cruise!

Cindy Kemp

Cindy has worked alongside of Ed in ministry throughout their marriage and has now moved to the Loan Consultant field and hoping to work in Lincoln. She enjoys her Master’s Swim Team workouts and does some open water swimming. In June of 2000 she and Nik swam the famous San Francisco Bay Alcatraz swim humorously called the Shark Fest Swim…no one was lost that year. You can reach Cindy at 916.337.7171
