I can remember the collective groan my 8th grade year as I swung at the ball for the third time and missed. Who cares? It’s just a game.
I can remember having read the wrong material for Freshman biology and getting a big red F. Who cares? It’s just one quiz.
I can remember arguing with my wife and discovering that I was wrong about the details! Who cares? It’s just one little fight.
What do you do with the emotions of discouragement? How do you gain perspective on failure? Come this Sunday and walk with us through the book of 1st Peter and discover how to win at “The Game of Life” Message 1: Overcoming Discouragement.
Immediately following the service we’ll be gathering at McBean Pool, for our annual picnic and baptism. We’re going to a great time of fun and fellowship! The BBQ will be provided but you must bring your own meat to cook. If your last name begins with A-M bring a side dish, if your last name starts with N-Z bring a salad. Be sure to join us for family games and swimming after the baptism; you’ll definitely want to see who wins the biggest splash and belly flop contests!
Plan ahead and mark your calendars! September 19th we’re launching a new discipleship ministry, “Growth Point Systems.” Sunday evenings for six weeks, 5-7 pm we’ll have several classes we’d like you to consider. The first is for newer believers in our church called “Foundations of Faith.” This class will run 6 weeks from 9/19-10/24 from 5-7 pm. At the same time, we’ll be holding our Spiritual Formation classes:
